Turbo Vado SL

Verdikt
- Lightweight for a full-equipment e-bike — ~17.7 kg alloy, 14.9 kg carbon — easy to carry up stairs, onto transit, or onto a car rack.
- Natural 'It's you, only faster' ride feel: the SL 1.2 motor adds support without overwhelming pedalling, and the bike rides well even with assist off.
- Outstanding real-world range — reviewers exceeded 160 km in Eco on the 520 Wh battery, with a 160 Wh range extender available for longer days.
- Future Shock 3.2 headset micro-suspension takes the edge off rough roads and cobbles without adding a heavy suspension fork.
- Quality finishing kit and integration — TRP hydraulic discs, Mastermind H3 colour display, integrated lights/rack/fenders on EQ trims, app tuning.
- Non-removable integrated battery — you must bring the whole bike to a power source to charge, unlike removable-battery rivals.
- Lower torque than full-power systems — 50 Nm (gen-2) / 35 Nm (gen-1) feels modest on steep climbs or when heavily loaded versus Bosch/Shimano 85 Nm motors.
- Premium pricing — €3,800+ entry, up to €9,999 for the S-Racing LTD; expensive relative to heavier full-power commuter e-bikes.
- Gen-1 SL 1.1 motor is audible under higher assist and its standard lighting was widely criticised as inadequate for night riding.
- Range-extender, the practical fix for the small battery, is a costly add-on and occupies the only bottle-cage mount.
