Turbo Tero turuletoomine 2022. aastal oli Specializedi keskklassi fitnessi-/pendliratta mudel, mis asetseb linnaliku Vado ja maastikule kalduva Tero X vahel. Ehitatud samale täisvõimsusega 2.x mootoriplatvormile nagu Vado ja Levo (90 Nm tippversioonil 5.0, 70 Nm versioonil 4.0, 50 Nm versioonil 3.0), kasutab Tero alumiiniumist E5 raami, enamikel versioonidel vedrustusega kahvlit, 29" rattaid suurusel M ja suurematel ning kinnituspunkte pakiraamile, poritiibadele ja tuledele. Specialized positsioneeris selle sõitjatele, kes soovisid ühte ratast, mis hakkama saaks kruusateedel, kergel üksikrajal, linnaliikluses ja nädalavahetuse toimetustel ilma Vado kiiruse-pedelec kompromissideta. Tero jagab oma 710 Wh sisemist alumiiniumtoru akut Vado ja Comoga, võimaldades teenindusosade ühilduvust kogu aktiivses mudelivalikus. Tootmine toimub Specializedi Aasia tehastes, EL-i jaotusega Šveitsist.

- Specialized E5 aluminum alloy, high-step diamond frame (step-through/mid-step available on lower trims). Boost 110mm front / 148mm rear hub spacing. Mounts for rack, fenders, third bottle cage, integrated rear-light wiring.
- Kahvel
- RockShox Recon Silver RL, 110 mm travel, 32 mm steel stanchions, low-speed compression / rebound / preload adjust (4.0). SR Suntour fork on lower 3.0 trim; rigid alloy option on base builds.
- Jõuülekanne
- Shimano Deore 11-speed (5.0), Shimano Deore 10-speed (4.0), Shimano Altus/Acera 9-speed (3.0). 4.0 EQ uses SRAM NX 1×11 (11-42T cassette, 40T narrow-wide chainring, Praxis 170mm cranks).
- Pidurid
- Hydraulic disc. 4.0 EQ: SRAM Guide T 4-piston, 200 mm front / 180 mm rear rotors. Lower trims use 2-piston Shimano hydraulic discs.
- Rattad
- 29-inch, double-wall rims, 32-hole, Boost hubs. 2Bliss-ready (tubeless compatible). 27.5" used on smaller frame sizes.
- Rehvid
- Specialized Ground Control 29×2.35" (4.0), 2Bliss-ready, 25-50 PSI. Mixed-surface tread for gravel/light trail/urban.
- Vedrustus
- Hardtail — front suspension only (110 mm RockShox Recon Silver RL on 4.0). No rear suspension.
- Rooliplokk
- Specialized Trail handlebar 750 mm (M-XL), 31.8 mm clamp; Specialized Stealth stem 60 mm, 14°; Specialized Trail lock-on grips. TranzX dropper seatpost (100-120 mm) on EQ trims.
- Sadul
- Specialized Rivo Sport, steel rails. Paired with TranzX dropper post on equipped builds.
- Geomeetria
- Upright, commuter/fitness-oriented hardtail geometry — more relaxed and shorter-travel than the slacker, longer-travel Tero X. Quick to adapt to, stable on mixed surfaces.

- ~22.7 kg (5.0); ~23 kg (4.0); ~26 kg (4.0 EQ with rack, fenders, lights, dropper).

- Specialized 2.2 Custom Rx Trail-tuned mid-drive (Brose S Mag), 250 W nominal. 90 Nm (5.0), 70 Nm (4.0), 50 Nm (3.0).

- Specialized U2-710, 710 Wh internal downtube (36.3 V, 19.6 Ah), removable, ~4 h charge. Shared with Vado/Como. 530 Wh on some Tero X 4.0 builds.

- Turbo Connect Display 2 (TCD2 MasterMind), 2" colour LCD with USB-C charge port; Eco/Trail/Turbo modes micro-tunable in 10% steps via Mission Control app (Smart Control range mode, Strava).

- Up to ~120 km / 75 mi (Eco) on the 710 Wh battery; real-world ~55-145 km depending on mode/terrain/rider.
- Abiklass
- Class 1 / EU pedelec — pedal-assist limited to 25 km/h (20 mph in US). Not a speed pedelec.

- Class-leading integration — Specialized's own motor, 710 Wh battery, MasterMind TCD2 display, fenders and rack are custom-built and judged better-finished than most rivals.
- Huge usable range from the 710 Wh battery (up to ~120 km Eco), with Smart Control app mode that caps assist to guarantee you finish a planned route.
- Genuinely versatile — handles city commuting, gravel paths, light singletrack and weekend touring on one bike; quick to adapt to, stable handling.
- Strong EU/Baltic dealer and service support, and battery/parts shared with the Vado and Como lineup for easy serviceability.
- EQ trims add factory lights, fenders, MIK rack (27 kg) and kickstand — fully commuter-ready out of the box.
- Heavy — ~26 kg in EQ trim makes it cumbersome to lift, carry up stairs or load on a rack.
- Motor noise complaints on some units — a loud rattle in the downtube reported by reviewers.
- The 50 Nm motor on the entry 3.0 feels underpowered and clunky/jerky off the line and on steep climbs, especially for heavier riders.
- Premium price — 4.0 EQ around €5,000-5,800, limiting accessibility versus value-brand rivals.
- Practical niggles: long front fender catches stairs/curbs/sticks, charge port sits awkwardly low, pointy kickstand sinks in soft ground, and no shift-sensing means extra chain/sprocket wear.
