Prince FX
Tehnilised andmed
- Raam
- Asymmetric Toray T900 carbon monocoque — the higher-modulus 'FX' layup vs the base Prince's T700, with FlatBack aero tube profiles, a concave Bolide-derived down tube and TiCR full internal cable/hose routing
- Kahvel
- Pinarello Onda full-carbon aero fork with ForkFlap; disc versions use an asymmetric fork (larger non-drive-side blade) to handle braking loads
- Jõuülekanne
- Shimano Ultegra 2x11 — mechanical (R8000, 50/34 + 11-28) on the base build, Ultegra Di2 on higher trims; rim and disc options both offered
- Pidurid
- Shimano Ultegra — rim-brake on early/base builds, Ultegra (Di2) hydraulic disc on the FX Disk; flat-mount disc with asymmetric fork
- Rattad
- Fulcrum Racing 5 (Racing 5 DB on disc builds) — entry-level alloy clinchers, widely criticised as a weak spec for the frame's price tier
- Rehvid
- 25 mm clinchers as specced (Vittoria Rubino/Zaffiro Pro); max clearance ~28 mm (Pinarello rates the frame up to ~30 mm)
- Vedrustus
- Rigid — race road bike with no suspension; compliance comes only from the Onda fork and carbon layup
- Rooliplokk
- Pinarello-house 'Most' kit — Most Jaguar XC Aero 3K carbon bar, Most Tiger Ultra aero stem (alloy or carbon-wrapped), Pinarello Prince FX carbon aero seatpost
- Sadul
- Most Lynx on Di2/disc builds; Fizik Antares R7 on some rim-brake builds
- Geomeetria
- Aggressive Dogma-derived race fit — ~71° head / 72° seat angle, ~986 mm wheelbase, ~408 mm chainstays; offered in 11 sizes (44-62 cm) for precise fit
- Kaal
- ~7.94 kg (rim-brake Ultegra build as tested by BikeRadar); disc/Di2 builds heavier
Verdikt
- Genuine Dogma DNA at a lower price — asymmetric T900 frame, FlatBack aero profiles and aggressive race geometry that reviewers called 'a worthy heir to the Dogma's throne'
- Sharp, responsive handling and snappy power delivery: 'responds in an instant when power goes through the pedals', high torsional stiffness
- Strong on flat/rolling terrain thanks to the aero tube shaping and concave down tube borrowed from the Bolide TT
- Exceptional sizing range — 11 frame sizes (44-62 cm) for a precise race fit
- Distinctive, unmistakably Pinarello aesthetic that holds resale appeal on the used market
- Chattery, harsh ride — multiple reviewers noted excessive vibration feedback over rough surfaces
- Entry-level Fulcrum Racing 5 wheels and budget tyres are heavy and non-aero, a clear cost compromise that holds the frame back
- Poor value at full RRP (£5,000-£6,200) — beaten on performance by cheaper rivals like the Specialized Tarmac SL6
- Acceleration feels laboured for the stiffness on offer, and it climbs less convincingly than the Dogma F-series
- Discontinued in 2023 — no current warranty, limited frameset/spares availability and dated ~28 mm max tyre clearance
