Verticale SLR
Algupära
Wilier Triestina on üks jalgrattasõidu vanimaid nimesid, asutatud 1906. aastal Bassano del Grappas, Veneto, Itaalias. Bränd kannab endas sügavat natsionalistlikku romantikat – selle nimi on lühend fraasist 'W l'Italia liberata e redenta' ('Elagu Itaalia, vabastatud ja lunastatud'), mis pärineb Esimese maailmasõja järgsest irredentistlikust liikumisest. Verticale SLR, mis turule toodi 2024. aastal, on kaasaegne tippmudel mägironimiseks, mis asendab Zero SLR-i. Disainitud ja projekteeritud Rossano Venetos, kus ettevõte endiselt asub, on see käsitsi viimistletud ja esindab Wilieri puhast mägironimise traditsiooni – sama traditsiooni, mis pani sõitjad nagu Fiorenzo Magni 1940. aastatel Wilieri vaskvärvi raamidele. Tootmisraamid on ehitatud Aasias Wilieri tööriistade järgi, kuid disain, kihistuse inseneritöö ja viimistlus jäävad Itaaliasse.
Tehnilised andmed
- Raam
- Carbon monocoque using three Toray fibres — T800 and T1100 (tensile strength) plus M46JB (stiffness). Each frame built from ~400 cut plies, cured via 'Active Moulding' with expanding foam-polymer inner moulds. Frame ~648g, fork ~296g, frameset ~944g (size M); press-fit BB.
- Kahvel
- Full-carbon Verticale SLR fork, ~296g, asymmetric Kammtail legs (beefier brake-side, twisted profile). Tyre clearance 32mm (34mm possible).
- Jõuülekanne
- Electronic-only. Builds: Shimano Ultegra Di2 2x12 (entry), Dura-Ace Di2 R9200 2x12, SRAM RED AXS, Campagnolo Super Record WRL. Dura-Ace test build 52/36T, 11-34T.
- Pidurid
- Disc-only hydraulic, matched to groupset (e.g. Shimano Dura-Ace R9200), rotors 160/140mm. Bike accepts only electronic shifting + disc brakes.
- Rattad
- Wilier/Miche in-house Kleos RD 36 — 36mm-deep hooked rims, 21mm internal / 29.4mm external width, CeramicSpeed ceramic bearings, ~1,410-1,467g.
- Rehvid
- Tubeless-ready, 700x28c. Stock Vittoria Corsa Pro TLR (tan sidewall); some test bikes shipped on Panaracer Agilest TLR.
- Vedrustus
- Rigid (road race frame, no suspension)
- Rooliplokk
- Wilier V-Bar one-piece carbon integrated bar/stem (~310g), ovalised tops with double-kink flared drops (narrow hoods, wider drops). Widths 370-390mm, stems 90-150mm; swappable free at purchase.
- Sadul
- Prologo Nago R4 PAS, carbon rails. Wilier Verticale SLR carbon seatpost, 15° setback standard (zero-setback for upcharge).
- Geomeetria
- Race-climbing geometry, 6 sizes (XS-XXL). Size XL: 73° head, 73° seat, 400mm reach, 577mm stack, 412mm chainstay, 1009mm wheelbase. Reach/stack ~1.42 — sporty but not extreme; smaller sizes shorter reach (steep-climb handling), larger sizes longer reach (high-speed stability).
- Kaal
- Complete bike ~6.82-6.88 kg (size L/XL, with cage/computer mount). Frame 648g, fork 296g (size M).
Verdikt
- Exceptionally light — 648g frame / ~944g frameset, complete bikes from ~6.82 kg, among the lightest production climbing bikes (reviewers reckon lighter than a Tarmac SL8)
- Excellent climbing performance with an ideal sustained-climb riding position
- Confidence-inspiring, stable handling and strong descending despite the low weight
- Well-balanced ride that filters road buzz and absorbs sudden shocks well for a stiff race frame
- Buyer-friendly customisation — V-Bar handlebar swapped free at purchase, multiple groupset/seatpost options
- Feels limited and less sharp on flat terrain compared with dedicated all-rounder race bikes
- Electronic-shifting + disc-brake only — no mechanical or rim-brake options at all
- Most builds ship without a power meter; adding one means a meaningful price jump
- Premium pricing (entry ~£9,000 / ~€5,800, up to ~€13,400) at or above key rivals
- Limited V-Bar size matrix (370-390mm widths) restricts fit/ergonomic choices
