Algupära
Diverge arenes 'roubaix mustale teele' pühendunud, väga võimekaks kruusasõiduplatvormiks. Specializedi insenerid pikendasid ulatust ja lõdvendasid viimastel põlvkondadel peatoru, et pakkuda mägirattalaadset stabiilsust kiiretel mustal teel laskumistel. Gen 3 (2021–praeguseni): Tutvustati Future Shock 2.0, SWAT alatoru hoiuruumi ja suurendati rehvi kliirensit 47 mm-ni.

Tehnilised andmed
- Raam
- Premium E5 aluminum (Sport/Comp alloy) or FACT 9r carbon (carbon models); STR uses FACT 11r carbon. Carbon frameset ~1,150g (56cm, Diverge 4 9r)
- Kahvel
- Future Shock head-tube suspension, 20 mm travel. Diverge 4 (2026): Future Shock 3.3 adjustable damping (Pro/Pro LTD) or 3.2 non-adjustable with 3 swappable spring weights (Sport/Comp/Expert). Older gens: Future Shock 1.5/2.0/3.0.
- Jõuülekanne
- 1x across range. Diverge 4 (2026): Shimano CUES U600 11-spd (E5 Sport) up to SRAM AXS XPLR Transmission; STR uses SRAM Rival/GX AXS 12-spd (40t, 11-50t). Frame is 1x or 2x capable (wide 47.5mm chainline).
- Pidurid
- Hydraulic disc - Shimano GRX or SRAM (Rival eTAP AXS on STR)
- Rattad
- 700c (650B option on STR). Roval Terra C/CL/CLX carbon (25mm internal on STR), alloy wheels on Sport/Comp
- Rooliplokk
- Two-piece (separate bar/stem) with external/semi-external cable routing — Diverge 4 keeps a divided cockpit (criticized as outdated vs integrated rivals)
- Sadul
- Specialized Body Geometry saddle; STR adds rear Future Shock via flexing seat tube/post (up to 30mm travel)
- Geomeetria
- Endurance gravel geometry. STR (54cm): 71.25° head angle, 1034mm wheelbase, 593mm stack, 383mm reach. Diverge 4 (2026): head angle slackened 0.5°, BB dropped 5mm, chainstays +5mm vs Gen 3 — more stable, MTB-like descending.
- Kaal
- Diverge 4 (56cm): E5 Sport alloy 10.74 kg, Sport carbon 8.01 kg. STR Expert (54cm) ~10 kg (~22 lb)

+Tugevused
- Future Shock head-tube suspension genuinely smooths rough terrain and isolates the rider's hands, enabling longer, harder riding without the weight penalty of full suspension
- Class-leading SWAT in-frame down-tube storage (now even on the alloy Diverge 4) — widely regarded as the best in-frame storage in the industry
- Huge tire clearance: up to 50mm or a 2.2" MTB tire on the 2026 Diverge 4, making it one of the most versatile gravel/adventure platforms
- Stable, predictable, confidence-inspiring handling on fast or technical descents thanks to the slacker, longer geometry
- Excellent loaded/bikepacking manners and abundant mounts; comes with capable Pathfinder Pro / Tracer Pro stock tires
−Nõrkused
- 'Specialized Tax' — expensive relative to competitors, often with mid-tier components for the price
- Heavy for the category, especially STR (~10 kg) and the E5 Sport alloy (10.74 kg) — not a featherweight racer
- Lacks the direct, lively, snappy feel of a race-focused gravel bike; Future Shock stays active during sprints, reducing precision
- External/semi-external routing and a two-piece divided cockpit feel dated next to integrated rivals
- Suspension setup is fiddly (swapping spring weights/components); STR adds proprietary-part complexity and limited frame-bag compatibility
- 2026 lineup dropped the top-tier S-Works model; alloy models have limited electronic-drivetrain options
