Algupära

The URS LT (Long Travel) was introduced in 2024 as part of a comprehensive BMC URS gravel lineup refresh. Where the URS 01 is a rigid all-road machine, the LT variant adds BMC's proprietary MTT (MicroTravel Technology) to both ends: a 20 mm coil-damped suspension fork at the front and elastomer-loaded seatstays at the rear giving 10 mm of vertical travel. The design philosophy bridges the gap between a responsive gravel race bike and an adventure/bikepacking platform capable of prolonged rough terrain.

Full carbon Premium Carbon frame with MTT (MicroTravel Technology) seatstays delivering 10 mm of rear vertical travel via elastomer micro-suspension. UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger), dropper post compatible, integrated downtube storage.

BMC MTT Suspension Fork — 20 mm of damped, coil-sprung travel integrated into a carbon fork crown. Designed for 700c up to 47 mm or 650b up to 52 mm tires. Three-pack mounts for bikepacking cages.

Stock: WTB Radler 700x40 tubeless. Max clearance 700c x 47 mm or 650b x 52 mm. Suspension allows running slightly higher tire pressures than fully rigid gravel bikes.

Front: MTT fork 20 mm coil-damped travel. Rear: MTT elastomer seatstay micro-suspension 10 mm vertical travel. Optional ICS MTT Stem (ShockStop by Redshift) adds up to 20 mm additional cockpit compliance. System total potential: up to 50 mm of combined vibration attenuation.
Rooliplokk
Short stem with ICS bar/stem interface. Optional ICS MTT Stem (Redshift ShockStop integrated) for additional 20 mm handlebar compliance. Standard 31.8 mm bar clamp.
Sadul
D-shaped seatpost accepting standard 27.2 mm dropper post. Saddle varies by build tier.
Geomeetria
Size M (70 kg reference rider): head angle 69-69.5°, reach 395-410 mm, wheelbase 1052-1112 mm across XS-XL. Long front-centre and wheelbase for stability. Lower BB than typical gravel bikes. 68 mm press-fit bottom bracket.
Kaal
Complete bike (01 LT ONE, size M): approx 9.5 kg (20.9 lb). Carbon frame is light; MTT fork and elastomers add modest weight vs rigid fork.

  • Excellent traction and control on loose, rutted gravel — the combined MTT fork + elastomer seatstays keep both wheels grounded on rough terrain without the weight penalty of a full-suspension gravel bike.
  • Confident, stable handling geometry (69.5° head angle, long wheelbase) inspires confidence on fast gravel descents.
  • Highly versatile: performs well on tarmac pacelines and rough gravel alike; accepts 700c or 650b wheels for route customisation.
  • Integrated downtube storage, three-pack fork mounts, rack/fender mounts, and dropper post compatibility make it a genuine bikepacking platform.
Nõrkused
  • Complete bike weight ~9.5 kg is high for a carbon gravel bike — the MTT suspension system and feature set carry a weight penalty.
  • The 20 mm MTT fork travel is relatively modest compared to gravel bikes with 40-60 mm forks; less suited for aggressive trail riding.
  • Non-standard MTT fork limits aftermarket fork swap options.
  • 68 mm press-fit bottom bracket (not threaded) is less serviceable and can creak over time with gravel grime ingress.
