Procaliber on Trek'i süsinikust XC hardtail, mis tutvustati 2016. aastal jalgrattana, mis viis populaarse Superfly hardtail platvormi kõrgemasse klassi. Selle määravaks omaduseks peaaegu kümneks aastaks oli IsoSpeed — lahtine istmetoru/istmepiida liitekoht väikese elastomeeriga summutatud pöördepunktiga, mis oli laenatud Trek'i Domane maanteerattalt ja võimaldas istmetorul painduda ette-taha vibratsiooni summutamiseks ilma kaalu lisamata või pedaalimist mõjutamata. 2025. aasta mudeliaasta (Gen 3) jaoks asendas Trek IsoSpeed'i IsoBow'ga — häälestatud toruliitega, mis annab umbes 80% painduvusest ilma laagrite, riistvara ja 150g raami kaalu vähendamiseta. Rough tracks will still slow you down — it's a hardtail, and the IsoBow can't fully compensate for lack of rear suspension on truly rough XC courses
Press-fit BB92 (carbon models) is notorious for developing creaks, requiring frequent maintenance
Carbon Procaliber 9.5 has weak brakes (Shimano MT200 2-piston) for a €1,799 bike — aluminum Procaliber 8 has better brakes at a lower price
IsoSpeed creak on Gen 1-2 models is a well-documented issue requiring regular maintenance Gen 3 IsoBow may reduce this as it has no moving parts

Ostumärkused

№ 01

The aluminum Procaliber 8 (€1,399) has a better drivetrain (XT/SLX 1x12) and 4-piston brakes compared to the carbon Procaliber 9.5 (€1,799) which has Deore and 2-piston MT200 brakes. Consider whether the carbon frame and IsoBow are worth the €400 premium with worse components.

If buying a Gen 1-2 Procaliber used, factor in IsoSpeed decoupler maintenance — the cartridge needs periodic service (cleaning, Loctite, re-torque) or it will develop creaking.

For the carbon models, budget for a threaded BB conversion (e.g., Wheels Manufacturing) if the press-fit BB92 develops creak — this is the #1 reported Procaliber issue.

№ 04

Gen 2 carbon framesets are still available at €1,999 (vs Gen 3 C Frameset at €1,499). The Gen 3 is cheaper AND lighter — there is no reason to buy Gen 2 at full price unless you specifically want IsoSpeed over IsoBow.

The aluminum Procaliber has hidden rack and kickstand mounts — making it one of the few XC race-geometry bikes that can double as a commuter or light tourer if needed.

Procaliber is a high-value theft target — Estonian forum has stolen bike reports. Invest in quality locks and consider bicycle insurance, especially for carbon models.
