Algupära

Bolide on Pinarello ajasõidu- ja triatloniplatvorm, millel on kolm erinevat varianti, mis jagavad sama nime. Bolide F TT on UCI-le vastav maanteesõidu ajasõiduratas, mis kujundati ümber Pariisi 2024 jaoks, kasutades 'AirStream' tehnoloogiat — istmetoru ja istmeposti aerosõlmede muster, mis töötati välja koostöös Adelaide'i ülikooliga — väidetavalt 2,28% CdA vähenemine võrreldes eelmise Bolide F-iga. Rehvimahu kasv 28-lt 32 mm-le. Bolide TR ja TR+ on mitte-UCI triatloni variandid — sama esteetiline keel, kuid pikem peatoru (+35 mm), madalam alumine kronstein (-8 mm), 78° istmetoru nurk ja integreeritud bento/hoidikukastid Ironmani kasutamiseks. Eraldi 3D-prinditud titaanist HR variant on olemas tunnirekordi ja raja jälitamise jaoks, sealhulgas raam, millega Filippo Ganna sõitis oma UCI tunnirekordi. Hinnakujundus peegeldab nišši — raamikomplektid algavad umbes 15 000 USD-st F TT puhul, täielik TR+ Dura-Ace komplekt umbes 11 000 €.

Tehnilised andmed

Raam
Bolide F TT: TorayCa T1100G 1K Nanoalloy carbon (TiCR internal cable routing, Italian threaded BB). Triathlon Bolide TR+ uses T1100G UD with Nanoalloy; Bolide TR uses lower-grade T700 UD (heavier, less stiff). HR variant is fully 3D-printed titanium.
Kahvel
Bolide TT Onda fork with ForkFlap aerodynamic cover sealing the gap between fork legs and front wheel; tapered head tube. Rigid (no suspension).
Jõuülekanne
Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9270 (TT-specific bar-end shifters or remotes), Shimano Ultegra Di2 R8170 on lower TR trims
Pidurid
Disc brakes (flat-mount hydraulic). Frameset builds with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 or SRAM Red eTap AXS. Earlier Bolide TT rim-brake framesets also existed.
Rattad
Sold as frameset — wheels rider's choice (deep-section TT/disc wheelsets). Bolide TR+ designed for max 30 mm rim width.
Rehvid
Bolide F TT clearance increased from 28 mm to 32 mm. Bolide TR+ designed for max 700x28 mm.
Vedrustus
Rigid (no suspension — TT/triathlon/track race bike)
Rooliplokk
MOST TT integrated aerobar (Pinarello in-house brand); custom 3D-printed titanium aerobar option available at extreme cost. Pinarello Aero Seatpost with Twinforce seatclamp and titanium bolts.
Sadul
Rider's choice (frameset). Bolide TR+ tester noted thick foam armrest pads for Ironman comfort. Pinarello Aero Seatpost; TR/TR+ use a forward straight seatpost for steep effective seat angle.
Geomeetria
Bolide F TT: 77° seat tube angle, UCI-legal race position, sizes 52/55/58/61. Bolide TR/TR+: 78° seat angle, head tube +35 mm taller, BB -8 mm lower, very short 395 mm chainstays — fit-optimised triathlon geometry.
Kaal
Bolide F TT disc frameset ~2,265 g (size 55, incl. fork, bearings, seatpost, disc brakes, hydraulic hoses); ~170 g lighter frame+brake kit vs previous model.

Verdikt

+Tugevused
  • Genuine race pedigree — the Bolide platform carries multiple UCI Hour Records (Wiggins, Ganna) and Olympic/World TT wins, with aero refined over 2,000+ CFD simulations.
  • Bolide F TT's AirStream tech (AeroNodes on seat tube/post, co-developed with University of Adelaide) delivers a measured 2.28% CdA reduction over the prior model.
  • Disc-brake F TT frameset is light for an aero TT frame (~2.27 kg incl. fork/seatpost/brakes), helping keep UCI-legal builds near the 6.8 kg limit.
  • Bolide TR+ triathlon geometry (taller head tube, lower BB, 78° seat angle) genuinely improves long-course comfort and stability for Ironman age-groupers, with integrated storage that also smooths airflow.
  • Increased 32 mm tyre clearance (F TT) modernises the platform for wider, faster-rolling tyres.
Nõrkused
  • Extreme price — F TT frameset around $14,500-$15,800; complete builds €11,000+. Custom 3D-printed titanium MOST aerobar can run ~$34,000.
  • Frameset-only sale means buyers must source wheels, groupset and finishing kit separately, pushing total cost far higher.
  • Hyper-specialised single-discipline bike: no versatility — pointless for anyone racing TT/tri only a handful of times a year vs a clip-on aerobar on a road bike.
  • TR (non-plus) uses lower-grade T700 carbon, so it is noticeably heavier and less stiff than the flagship TR+.
  • Reviewers/forums note the conservative, surprise-free design and clumsy electronic control-box integration (e.g. SRAM AXS box placement); armrest pads look agricultural.

Kellele sobib

Elite or wealthy age-group TT racer or Ironman athlete who needs UCI-legal (F TT) or fit-optimised triathlon (TR/TR+) aero geometry and is willing to pay top-tier for it.
