Top Fuel SLR

Top Fuel SLR nimetust kasutati Top Fuel platvormi 3. põlvkonnal (mudeliaastad 2022–2024), et eristada tipptasemel süsinikkonstruktsioone SL (madalamatasemeline süsinik) ja alumiiniumversioonidest. Top Fuel ise on olnud Trek'i lühikese käiguga täisvedrustusega XC/down-country jalgratas alates 2002. aastast, arenedes 100 mm maratonirattast tänapäevaseks 120 mm taga / 130 mm kahvliga down-country formaadiks, mis selle kategooria määratles. 3. põlvkonna SLR kasutas ABP nelja varda paigutust, kaubamärgiga Mino Link geomeetria pöördkiipi ja raami kaalu umbes 2,4 kg värvituna. 2025. aastaks tõi Trek välja 4. põlvkonna ümberkujundatud raamiga (160 g kergem), 4-asendilise Mino Linkiga, mis võimaldab käigu ja ratta suuruse reguleerimist 120 mm/29er ja 130 mm/MX vahel, ning loobus SLR/SL nimetusest – kõik süsinikkonstruktsioonid on nüüd lihtsalt 'Top Fuel'. 4. põlvkonda peetakse üheks kõige kohandatavamaks XC/down-country rattaks turul.

- Mino Link flip-chip: 66.0°/66.4° head angle, 76.0°/76.4° seat tube angle. Reach 404-504 mm across XS-XL. Down-country oriented — steeper/more pedal-efficient than Fuel EX, slacker than pure XC.

Verdikt
- Punches well above its 120 mm travel — composed and capable on rough, demanding terrain for a down-country bike.
- Exceptional climber and accelerator: light OCLV carbon frame and ABP suspension stay efficient under power.
- Nimble, playful, involving handling that encourages aggressive riding beyond its numbers.
- Practical modern frame: in-frame down tube storage, Mino Link geometry adjust, UDH hanger, generous 2.5" tire clearance.
- Premium SLR builds carry top-shelf kit (SRAM XX1 AXS wireless, carbon Bontrager wheels, RSL integrated cockpit).
- TwistLoc/remote lockout system is niche and adds front-end cable clutter and complexity many riders won't use.
- SRAM Level Ultimate brakes prioritise weight over outright power and modulation — underwhelming on long/steep descents.
- Fast Bontrager XR3/XR4 Team Issue tires lose grip quickly in the wet and on loose terrain.
- Down-country positioning means it gets under-biked on genuinely rough trails versus the Fuel EX.
- Flagship SLR pricing is very high (≈€9,000 for the 9.9) for a short-travel bike.
