Algupära
Status algas 2021. aastal kui varjatud, madala hinnaga mullet-enduro/freeride jalgratas — lasti turule ilma suurema kärata, müüdi otse ja oli suunatud sõitjatele, kes soovisid pika käiguga jõudlust poole Stumpjumper EVO hinnast. See saavutas kultusliku järgijaskonna hüppamise radadel ja rattaparkides. 2025. aastaks laiendas Specialized sarja Status 2 perekonnaks: 140 mm matka-/pargimudel, 170 mm freeride-mudel ja Status 2 170 DH kahe krooniga kahvliga. Segarattad (29 ees / 27,5 taga) jäävad tunnusjooneks ja M5 alumiiniumraam hoiab hinnad ausad. Status asub selgelt Enduro ja Demo vahel — freeride ja rattapargi jalgratas, mis ei teeskle ronimist.

- Raam
- M5 alloy front triangle and rear end. UDH/SRAM-compatible, threaded BB, sealed cartridge bearing pivots, internal routing with external rear-brake option, 12×148mm Boost dropouts, flip chips on the Horst pivot link for geometry tuning. Aluminum-only across the whole Status 2 family — no carbon by design.

- Varies by build: Status 2 140 — Marzocchi Bomber Z1, 140mm. Status 2 170 — Fox 38 Rhythm/Performance, 170mm. Status 2 170 DH — RockShox BoXXer (Charger 3 damper), 180mm dual-crown.
- Jõuülekanne
- Shimano Deore 1×12 on the 140 and 170 trims. Status 2 170 DH runs a 7-speed SRAM GX DH-specific group. All single-ring.
- Pidurid
- TRP Trail EVO 4-piston hydraulic disc on the 140 and 170 builds; SRAM Maven Bronze 4-piston on the 170 DH.
- Rattad
- Alloy mullet — 29" front / 27.5" rear (smallest S0 size uses 27.5" front / 26" rear). 170 DH uses Roval aluminum DH wheels.

- Specialized Butcher GRID Trail front; GRID Trail (140) or GRID Gravity (170) rear. 170 DH runs Butcher GRID Gravity T9 front and rear.
- Vedrustus
- Full-suspension. 140mm rear (Marzocchi Bomber air shock) on Status 2 140; 170mm rear (Fox DHX coil) on Status 2 170 and 170 DH. Progressive leverage curve that rewards an active, pumping riding style.
- Rooliplokk
- Alloy bar and stem; X-Fusion Manic dropper post on the 140 and 170 trims (170 DH has no dropper, being a lift-access bike).
- Sadul
- Specialized Bridge saddle.
- Geomeetria
- Slack, gravity-focused. ~64° head angle (Low) on 140/170, 77° seat angle, BB drop ~38mm, short chainstays 427mm (S1–S3) / 432mm (S4–S5). 140 reach 415–515mm, 170 reach 420–520mm. Flip chips on the Horst link fine-tune the geometry per terrain.

- Durable, abuse-friendly M5 alloy chassis built for the rigors of bike-park laps and hucks
- Agile, playful mullet handling (29"/27.5") — quick to change direction, loves berms, rollers and pumping flow lines
- Powerful, confidence-inspiring brakes (TRP Trail EVO / SRAM Maven on DH) with strong support on steep, technical terrain
- Flip-chip geometry adjustment lets riders fine-tune the bike to terrain and personal taste
−Nõrkused
- Aluminum-only and heavy — ~17 kg on the DH build means it's no climber and not a do-it-all bike
- Base-spec suspension (Rhythm fork, lower-tier RockShox on DH) is less plush than premium dampers on repeated consecutive impacts
- Limited damping adjustability on the entry forks compared with Performance/Factory equivalents
- Utilitarian, 'clunky' looks — visible weld seams and external bolts won't appeal to everyone
- No frame-only / carbon option; 170 DH uses just a 7-speed drivetrain (fine for lift-access, limiting elsewhere)
