Inmotion (asutatud 2012. aastal Shenzhenis, Hiinas) ehitas oma varase maine esmaklassiliste elektriliste üherattaliste (V-seeria) baasil, võites väikese, kuid lojaalse ülemaailmse järgijaskonna tänu ehituskvaliteedile ja uuenduslikule inseneritööle. S1 tuli turule 2022. aasta alguses kui Inmotioni tõsine sissetung peavoolu pendel-elektriliste tõukerataste turule — konkureerides mitte hinna (Inmotion pole odavaim) ja mitte sõiduulatuse (Inmotion pole pikima ulatusega), vaid ehituskvaliteedi, sportlikuma sõidutunde ja funktsioonide (kahekordne vedrustus, värviline puuteekraan) lisamisega, mida domineerivatel Segway ja Xiaomi pendel-tõukeratastel samas hinnaklassis polnud.   • Lighter than Segway G30 by 1.7 kg (17 kg vs 18.7 kg) — meaningful difference for apartment dwellers and public-transport users who need to lift the scooter daily.

  • Front-hub motor loses traction on wet starts more readily than rear-drive scooters. Not a major safety issue but a noticeable handling difference vs Segway G30's rear-drive setup.
  • Smaller Baltic dealer network — fewer than 5 confirmed primary dealers across EE/LV/LT in 2025-2026. Spare parts (tires, brake cables, fold hook) less readily stocked than Segway/Xiaomi.   • Inmotion app is functional but less polished than Segway-Ninebot — region change, cell diagnostics, theft alarm all present but less prominent.
  • Cold weather range loss is severe — Baltic winter sub-zero drops range 30-50%. Same issue as all 18650 Li-ion scooters. Below -10°C, expect closer to 50% range loss.
  • 5 hour charge time is moderate — faster than Segway G30 (6h) but slower than some 18650 competitors with higher-wattage chargers.

If your daily commute is under 15 km one-way and includes cobblestone, broken tarmac, or any rough pavement: the S1's dual suspension makes it the most comfortable option in the €700-850 class. The Segway G30 and Xiaomi 4 Pro both have zero suspension at this price.

If your daily commute is over 20 km one-way or you need a full Wolt/Bolt Food shift on one charge: the S1's 367 Wh / 22-28 km real range is too short. Buy the Segway MAX G30 (551 Wh) instead. The S1 is a comfort scooter, not a range scooter.

Verify Inmotion app pairing before purchase — pair via Bluetooth to confirm the serial number, firmware version, total km, and battery cell voltages. Counterfeit Inmotion units exist but are less common than Segway clones; still, app pairing is the definitive authenticity check.

Baltic dealer network for new S1 is smaller than for Segway/Xiaomi. Primary channels: inmotionworld.com EU shop (direct shipping), eScooterShop.ee, Skuteri.lv, certain Senukai SKUs in LT. Plan ahead for spare parts (tires, fold hook, brake cables) — they may need to be ordered rather than walked off the shelf.

Used market for S1 in the Baltic is thin — fewer than 15 active listings across all three states at any time. This means longer wait for the right unit but also less price pressure. Expect to pay €400-550 for a 2-year-old unit in good shape.

Suspension inspection on used S1: bounce-test the front and rear shocks. They should compress smoothly and rebound without bounce or oil leaks. Shock seal failures are uncommon but if they happen, replacement requires ordering from Inmotion or a specialised PEV shop (€40-80 per shock).

Color touchscreen care: the touchscreen is durable but should be wiped clean of grit/sand before pressing — long-term abrasion can dull the surface. Use a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid window cleaners or solvents.

Front-hub motor traction: practise gentle starts on wet pavement. Unlike rear-drive scooters, the S1's front-hub motor can lose traction more readily on wet starts. Start in Eco mode and ease into throttle on wet days.

Winter strategy in Baltic: same as all 18650 scooters — store battery indoors when not riding, expect 30-50% range loss sub-zero, plug in to charge while battery is still warm. The S1's IPX5 rating is the same as Segway G30 — neither is fully winter-proof against slush.

Tire replacement on S1 is easier than on Segway G30 because tires are tubed, not tubeless self-sealing. Budget €25-40 per tire at a Baltic e-scooter shop, or DIY with basic tire levers and a pump.

Theft prevention: S1 has no built-in GPS. Add an Apple AirTag, Samsung SmartTag, or Tile under the deck. Use a U-lock or chain through the folding stem when parking in city centres.

Firmware unlocking (raising 25 km/h to 30 km/h via app region change) is technically possible but NOT legal in EE/LV/LT. The 5 km/h gain is not worth the fines, insurance void, and possible moped reclassification.
