Scalpel SE tutvustati 2021. mudeliaastal kui puhta XC Scalpeli alla- / rajale kalduv õde. See võttis sama Flexpivot ketstoe tagavedrustuse — mis kasutab painduvat süsinikust ketstoe, et säästa kaalu ja jäikust, asendades tagatelje lähedal asuvat pöördepunkti — ja suurendas käigu pikkust 100mm-lt 120mm-ni nii ees kui taga, lõdvendas pea nurka 66,6 kraadini, lisas langetava istmeposti ja jämedamad rehvid. 2024. aasta ümberkujundus tõi Scalpel SE ühtsele platvormile XC Scalpeliga, jagades sama raami vormi, kuid pikema käiguga amortisaatori, tugevama kahvli ja rajale orienteeritud varustuskomplektiga. Seda toodetakse Cannondale'i Aasia süsinikurajatistes ja müüakse ülemaailmselt. SE nimi (Special Edition) sai brändi tunnusmärgiks 'alla-rajasegmendi' jaoks, mis plahvatas pärast 2020. aastat, kui XC võidusõitjad soovisid jalgratast, mis suudaks raskemini laskuda.
