Algupära
Bergamont is a Hamburg-founded bicycle brand established in 1993, long known for aggressive value-for-money mountain and trekking bikes and, since 2016, part of the Scott Sports group. The Vitess name had been used on Bergamont's classic trekking hardtails; for model year 2023 the company revived it as the E-Vitess, a fully electric urban/trekking machine. Bergamont was among the first brands to adopt the then-new TQ-HPR50 harmonic-pin-ring mid-motor — the same near-silent, ultra-compact drive Trek used in its Fuel EXe — to build a discreet, lightweight e-bike whose battery and motor almost disappear into the frame. The pitch was an e-bike that rides and looks like a normal bike but quietly adds power when you want it.

Verdikt
- Exceptionally light and natural-feeling for an urban e-bike (~19.5-20.4 kg) — easy to carry and rides well even with assist off.
- Near-silent, smooth TQ-HPR50 motor with a torquey, responsive feel on city climbs and off-the-line acceleration.
- Clean, stealthy integration with quality touring kit: Schwalbe Marathon Efficiency tyres, integrated lights, mudguards and (on Expert) a maintenance-free Gates belt.
- The 360 Wh battery is small — realistic ~30-50 km range means the range extender is close to essential for longer commutes.
- Premium pricing (typically ~€4,300-4,900 new) for the modest battery capacity.
- TQ HPR50 is a newer, proprietary system — fewer independent service points than Bosch/Shimano, and parts/support can be a consideration in smaller markets.
